Setting Up the Printer in Microsoft Windows
Follow the steps below to set up the printer.

Make sure the computer meets the minimum system requirements before installing the printer.

CD-ROM drive (4x)
800 x 600 monitor with 16-bit or higher color depth
Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 or later
Step one: Unpack the printer
Verify the contents of the box. The
contents may vary by country/region.
Refer to the packaging for the actual
- Remove all tape and cardboard packaging from inside and around the printer.
Step two: Connect the power cord
Connect the power cord to the printer
and to a wall outlet.
Do not connect the USB
cable until prompted to do so during software

Step three: Load paper
Load plain paper into the paper In-tray.
Step four: Install the ink cartridges
When installing the ink cartridges, ensure that the pink protective tab is completely removed. Also, do not touch or remove the ink
nozzles or the copper-colored

Step five: Install the printer software
When installing the printer software, do not connect the USB cable
until prompted to do so.
Insert the software CD into the CD drive of the computer.
Follow the on-screen steps until the printer software is completely installed.
