Printing a Test Page

  • PrintPrint

Introduction

There are several ways to print a test page from the HP Deskjet 920C or 940C series printers. In the first two methods (the sample page and the hardware self-test page), the printer does not need to be hooked up to the computer and the printer software does not need to be installed. The third method (the Toolbox test page) can be used to print a test page from the Toolbox after the printer software is already installed on the computer. The fourth method can be used to print a test page with the optional two-sided printing module (duplexer) installed. Use the following instructions to print a test page from the HP Deskjet 920C or 940C series printers. The graphics are not proportional to the paper size, but provide good examples of what will print. The graphics and text may vary with the 920C printers, but the tests are initiated the same and demonstrate printer functionality.

Sample page

  1. Turn the printer off and remove the cable that connects the printer to the computer.
  2. Turn the printer back on.
  3. Press and hold the RESUME button for approximately five seconds.
  4. The sample page should look like the illustration below (Figure 1).
