How to Print from a Bluetooth Enabled Camera Phone

Introduction

This document describes how to print from a Bluetooth-enabled camera phone to an HP Photosmart 325, 375, 8150, or 8450 printer.

Bluetooth printing requirements

  • Camera phone with Bluetooth wireless capability.
  • HP Photosmart 325, 375, 8150, or 8450 printer with the optional HP bt300 Bluetooth wireless printer adapter, Q3395A.
    NOTE:When printing make sure that the HP bt300 Bluetooth Wireless Adapter is plugged into the camera port on the front of the printer. The light on the adapter flashes when the adapter is ready to receive data.

Printing from a camera phone

  1. From the camera phone's imaging application, select the desired photo.
  2. Press the Send option from your phone.
  3. Select the Via Bluetooth option.
  4. Select the appropriate printer. You can identify the printer by its device name.

Troubleshooting with the HP Photosmart 325, 375, 8150, or 8450 printers

If the camera phone is unable to identify the Photosmart printer, follow the steps below.
Plug the HP bt300 Bluetooth Wireless Adapter into the camera port on the front of the printer
Make sure the HP bt300 Bluetooth Wireless Adapter is plugged into the camera port on the front of the printer. The light on the adapter will flash when the adapter is ready to receive data.
Set the Bluetooth accessibility to Visible
Bluetooth Accessibility may be set to Not Visible. Follow the steps below to change this setting to Visible.
  1. Press Menu to access the printer menu.
  2. Select Bluetooth, then press OK.
  3. Select Accessibility, then press OK.
  4. Select Visible to all, then press OK.
Change the security level
The Bluetooth security level may be set to High. Follow the steps below to change the security level.
  1. Press Menu to access the printer menu.
  2. Select Bluetooth, then press OK.
  3. Select Security level, then press OK.
  4. Select Low, then press OK.
Entering the correct passkey
The Passkey (PIN) that the Bluetooth device is using for the printer may be incorrect. Make sure the correct Passkey for the printer is entered in the Bluetooth device.
Determining the correct distance between the printer and the camera phone
The camera phone may be too far from the printer. Move the camera phone closer to the printer. The recommended distance between a Bluetooth device and the printer is 10 meters (30 feet).
