Uninstalling the Product Software in Windows XP

  • PrintPrint

Introduction

This topic explains how to remove the print driver and other product software from your Windows XP computer.
NOTE:If you are trying to resolve a particular issue or error message, uninstalling and reinstalling a driver might not resolve the issue. Unless you know that reinstalling is the correct solution, search for help topics that pertain to your specific issue or error message.
You must restart your computer for some uninstall methods. Consider bookmarking this page in your Web browser so that you can easily return to it after the computer restarts.

Do you have more than one HP product installed on your computer?

If you are using more than one HP product, some of the software components could be shared, and the uninstaller might ask whether you want to remove shared files. Use caution because other products might not work correctly if you delete certain files. To find out what various software components do, see Additional information about HP software at the end of this page.
NOTE:Some of the following steps require you to restart the computer. Consider bookmarking this page on your Web browser, so that you can reference it after restarting the computer.
