Using Netflix

This information applies to some HP computers sold in the United States, such as HP TouchSmart 300 and 600 series computers and some IQ500 and IQ800 products that were upgraded to Windows 7. Not all computers sold in the United States can use the Hulu software application.
At the time of this writing Netflix is available exclusively to the United States and certain U.S. Territories.

UPDATING TOUCHSMART

Did you know HP updates its TouchSmart software to add new features and tools? To get the latest features, update the TouchSmart software from the Internet. Go to the HP software and drivers Web site , and type the model of your computer, such as TouchSmart 600-1055. Select your Windows version, and under Software - Solutions, find the HP TouchSmart Netflix Application Update. Read the instructions on the Web page to download and install the update.
NOTE:To find the model number for your computer, press the Ctrl + Alt + S keys on the keyboard. A window displays your computer information including the model number.

Opening Netflix

TouchSmart Netflix is a way to watch movies instantly in TouchSmart after signing into a Netflix account. To use Netflix in TouchSmart you must have an Internet connection, a Netflix subscription, and movies in your Instant Queue.
NOTE:Netflix is not available in all countries/regions.
To open Netflix, tap the Netflix tile on the HP TouchSmart homepage.

Setting up a Netflix account

Use the following steps to sign up for a Netflix account:
  1. Using a browser, go to the Netflix Web site .
  2. Set up a subscription and arrange payment details.
  3. Set a password so you can sign in through TouchSmart Netflix.
  4. Browse movies and select Play-Add to Instant Queue. Repeat as desired.
  5. Sign out of Netflix.

Signing in to TouchSmart Netflix

Use the following steps to sign in to Netflix:
  1. Open HP TouchSmart, and select the Netflix tile.
  2. Under Member Sign In, enter your email and password, and then click Continue.

  3. If the Instant Queue is empty, log into Netflix and add movies to your instant queue .

  4. To sign out, tap the Queue button and tap Sign Out.

Watching a movie

Use the following steps to watch a movie:
  1. Open HP TouchSmart, and select the Netflix tile.
  2. Sign in to Netflix.
  3. Select a movie from your queue and tap it to open the movie information screen.
  4. Tap Play. The movie loading screen displays.

  5. To exit the movie, tap Exit.

Adding movies to the Instant Queue

Use the following steps to add a movie to the Instant Queue:
  1. Using a browser, navigate to Netflix.com .
  2. Sign in to your account.
  3. Browse movies and select a movie. Click Play - Add to Instant Queue. Repeat as desired.
  4. Sign out of Netflix.

Removing a movie from the Instant Queue

Use the following steps to remove a movie from the Instant Queue:
  1. Open HP TouchSmart, and select the Netflix tile.
  2. Sign in to Netflix.
  3. Select a movie in your queue and tap it to open the movie information screen.
  4. Tap Remove, and confirm Remove.

Updating the Instant Queue list in TouchSmart

Use the following steps to update the Instant Queue list in TouchSmart:
  1. Open HP TouchSmart, and select the Netflix tile.
  2. Sign in to Netflix.
  3. Tap the Queue button.
  4. Tap Refresh Instant Queue to reflect recent changes to your queue.

Finding the Netflix version

To find the Netflix version you are using, tap the Queue button.
The version number is listed in the lower-right corner.
