Removing and Replacing the Front Bezel for HP Slimline s5-1000 and 400-000 Desktop PCs
Before you begin
- Remove any disc from the CD or DVD drive.
- Turn off the computer, and then disconnect all cables. Disconnect the Ethernet or modem cable before disconnecting the power cord.
- Move the computer to a clear, flat, stable work surface over a non-carpeted floor.
- HP strongly recommends the use of an anti-static wrist strap and a conductive foam pad when working on the computer.
WARNING:The edges of metal panels can cut skin. Be careful not to slide skin along any interior metal edge of the computer.
CAUTION:This product contains components that can be damaged by electrostatic discharge (ESD). To reduce the chance of ESD damage, work over a noncarpeted floor, use a static dissipative work surface (such as a conductive foam pad), and wear an ESD wrist strap connected to a grounded surface.

Removing and replacing the front bezel
Remove the front bezel to access the hard drive and other internal components.
Removing the front bezel
Use the following steps to remove the front bezel.
To remove the front bezel, first remove the side panel.
For more information about removing the side panel, refer to the HP support document Removing and Replacing the Side Panel .
Unlatch the three tabs on the side of the front bezel.
Rotate the bezel away from the computer.
Replacing the front bezel
Use the following steps to replace the front bezel:
Find the six small tabs on the front bezel.
Find the six slots inside the computer.
Align the tabs on the right side of the front bezel with the slots on the computer.
Rotate the bezel into place.
Snap the left tabs firmly into place.
Replace the side panel.
