Setting Up a Custom Email Address for HP ePrint

Introduction

When you set up the HP ePrint service for your printer, HP automatically assigns it an email address so that you can send print jobs to your printer using email. You can change this email address to make it easier to remember and to share with trusted friends.

Setting up a custom email address

When you create a custom email address, please share it only with those who you want sending print jobs to your printer. Once you create your custom email address, your printer only accepts emails to this new email address.

These steps apply to the United States, United Kingdom, France, Spain, and Germany.
The ePrint system generates a unique email address for your printer, but you can change the address to one that is easier to remember. Follow these steps to customize your printer's email address.
  1. Sign in to your HP Connected account at HP Connected .
  2. Click the Devices tab.
  3. Next to the icon for your printer, click Settings.
  4. Under the printer's current ePrint email address, click Change Email.
  5. Type a new email address in the text box, and then click Save.
    • If the email address is available, your settings update immediately.
    • If the email address is not available, try to check for another email address or click one of the suggested addresses, and then click Save.
  6. Inform any allowed senders of the new ePrint email address.
These steps apply to the United States, United Kingdom, France, Spain, and Germany.
At HP Connected, you can manage your print jobs and change your ePrint settings. When you register at HP Connected, your printer's unique email address is provided to you. Follow these steps to register at HP Connected.
  1. Update the HP printer firmware.
  2. Enable Web Services on your HP printer. A Web Services confirmation page containing the printer's claim code prints.
  3. Go to HP Connected , and then click Create Account.
  4. Enter your information in the text fields, click the checkbox to accept the terms of use, and then click Create Account.
  5. On the Welcome to HP Connected window, click Continue.
  6. Click the Devices tab (if not already selected).
  7. Click Add a Device.
  8. Type the printer's claim code found on the Web Services confirmation page, and then click Add.
  9. Click OK. The You have successfully added your printer window opens.
    NOTE:HP sends an email to the account you used during the registration process. Open the email, click Confirm email address, and then sign in to HP Connected to complete the verification step.
  10. Click the Devices tab (if not already selected).
  11. Next to the icon for your printer, click Settings.
  12. Next to the icon for your printer, click Settings. The status of your printer displays above the printer icon.
  13. Under the printer's current ePrint email address, click Change Address.
  14. Type a new email address in the text box, and then click OK.
    • If the email address is available, your settings update immediately.
    • If the email address is not available, try a different address or click one of the suggested addresses, and then click OK.
  15. Inform any allowed senders of the new ePrint email address.
