How do I load envelopes or executive size paper in the HP DeskJet 510, 520, 550C, or 560C printers?
SOLUTION:
The following steps describe procedures for loading envelopes or executive size paper in the HP DeskJet 510, 520, 550C, and 560C printers.
Loading Envelopes
Open the Out tray cover.
Pull the In tray drawer outward until it stops.
Slide the paper width adjustment lever to the appropriate envelope setting.
Take out a stack of up to 20 envelopes and tap the short edge of the stack on a flat surface to even the stack.
Slide the stack squarely into the In tray, address side down (flap side up), past the green envelope stop.
Raise the green envelope stop.
Push the In tray into the printer until it stops. The In tray drawer will not close completely when loading envelopes.
Close the Out tray cover.
NOTE: To minimize print skew, use envelopes with a rectangular-shaped flap, as opposed to a triangular-shaped flap. To remove envelopes from the printer, remove the Out tray, remove the envelopes from the In tray, and lower the green envelope stop. Reinstall the Out tray.
Loading Executive Size Paper
Open the Out tray cover.
Pull the In tray drawer outward until it stops and remove all remaining media from the In tray.
Slide the paper width adjustment lever to the executive paper size setting.
Remove a .5 inch (1 cm) stack of media from its packaging and tap the short edge of the stack on a flat surface to even the stack.
Insert the paper into the In tray past the green envelope stop. Align the right edge of the paper stack with the right side of the printer.
Raise the green envelope stop.
Push the In tray into the printer until it stops. Make sure that the paper does not bend in the In tray.
Close the Out tray cover.
NOTE: Executive size paper must be supported in the software application or the printer driver because there is no switch setting on the printer for executive size paper.
