CAUTION:If you cannot configure the Multimedia or Internet keyboard buttons in Windows XP (the buttons tab is missing), download and install the
HP Multimedia Keyboard/Mouse Driver Update - sp26752
. After installing the update, restart the computer and configure the buttons again. This issue occurs when Microsoft update MS06-015 is installed.
This document contains information about using One-Touch Multimedia and Internet keyboards, including descriptions of the buttons and links to drivers and information on configuring the multimedia buttons and troubleshooting the keyboard.
About the One-Touch Multimedia and Internet keyboards
One-Touch Multimedia and Internet keyboards have one of two types of connections: PS/2 or Universal Serial Bus (USB). Keyboards with either connection function the same. However, with a USB keyboard, you can plug in other USB devices such as a USB mouse, joystick, or camera to the keyboard’s extra USB ports.

The One-Touch Multimedia and Internet keyboards function the same as normal keyboards, but they have more capabilities. You can customize these keyboards to perform the following tasks with the push of a button:
- Adjust speaker volume
- Mute all sound on the computer
- Start and stop playing a CD or DVD, skip to different tracks, and eject the disc tray
- Connect to the Internet if you have an established Internet account
- Customize buttons to open software or Web sites
- Place the computer on standby to save power
- Get support information
- Print

Shortcut 2 | Each of the shortcut buttons is set to open a software program. You can change these settings. |
| Burn CD or DVD | Configure to open your favorite CD or DVD writing software. |
| Standby | Press this button to save electricity. The screen goes dark, and the computer goes into standby mode. To use the system again, move the mouse, press any key, or press Standby. |
| Volume Plus | Press this button to raise the volume on the computer, CD, or DVD. |
| Volume Minus | Press this button to lower the volume on the computer, CD, or DVD. |
NOTE:Some keys might not be available on some HP keyboard models. The Internet or multimedia buttons work only if you have a connection and have signed up with an Internet Service Provider (ISP).
