Error: To send a fax you must have a fax printer installed

This document applies to HP and Compaq PCs with Windows XP.
When attempting to send a Fax, the following message appears:
To send a fax you must have a fax printer installed.

To resolve the message, install the software fax printer as follows:
  1. Click Start .
  2. Click Control Panel .
  3. Double-click Printers & Faxes or Printers and Other Hardware and then Printers & Faxes .
  4. Click Install a local fax printer .
You can now print to the Fax driver to send faxes with your PC modem.
