PrintWhen attempting to install the HP Scanning software, an error stating "Scanner not supported" or "Unsupported operating system"' displays.
These errors occur when attempting to install the HP Scanning software with the following conditions:
- The operating system on the computer does not meet minimum system requirements.
- The HP Scanning software is not compatible with the operating system on the computer system.
NOTE: Universal Serial Bus (USB) scanners are not supported in Windows NT 4.0 or Windows 95 as they do not have full USB support.

and information about the availability of
downloadable HP Scanning software (bps05330)
are available.
Information about
using the Windows Imaging Architecture (WIA) interface in Windows XP (bps05304)
is also available if the HP Scanjet scanner in use does not have any HP scanning software available that is Windows XP compatible.
