Optical character recognition (OCR) software
The HP PSC 700 series software CD includes the ReadIRIS Professional version 5.5 OCR program to convert text images into editable text. This software is designed to work with Windows 95, 98, ME, NT 4.0, and 2000. This software has been provided as a convenience to our customers. HP does not hold license to this software and cannot provide any updates or downloads of this software. The only way to obtain this software from HP is by ordering a replacement software CD. Updates to this software must be obtained from I.R.I.S.
Scanner bulb life
20,000 hours. A built-in adjustable Power Save Mode turns off the bulb when not in use for 1 to 12 hours (user adjustable). Under normal operation, the bulb should last approximately five years.

Memory information
While memory was an important consideration in DOS, most printers today make use of Windows virtual memory to spool print jobs. This makes memory capacity less important. The HP PSC 750 has 8 MB or DRAM to assist in performing functions.
