HP PSC 1100 Series All-in-One Front Panel Overview

Introduction

This document explains the functions of the HP PSC 1100 series front panel buttons.
Use the front panel buttons to perform many functions:
  • Copying
  • Initiating scans
  • Changing a variety of settings

Using the front panel

Refer to the image below to identify the location of the buttons on the front panel.

1On

Turns the all-in-one on and off
2Check Paper light

Indicates the need to load paper or clear paper jams.
3Check Print Cartridge light

Indicates the need to check, reinsert, replace the print cartridge, or close the ink cartridge access door.
4Cancel

Stops a print or copy task or cancels settings changes.
5Resume

Used to resume a copying or printing after a jam or other error.
6Size

Toggles the copy size (scale) to 100 percent or Fit to Page. The status lights to the right of this button indicate which setting is active.
7Paper Type

Changes the paper type setting to plain or photo. The status lights to the right of this button indicate which setting is active.

The Plain paper setting produces copies in Normal quality.

The Photo paper setting produces copies in Best quality.
8Black Start Copy

Starts a black-and-white copy.
9Color Start Copy

Starts a color copy.
10Scan

Starts a scan from the all-in-one front panel and opens the scanning software on the computer.

If the Scan button is pressed and held down while pressing the Black or Color Start Copy buttons, a copy will be created in Fast mode.

Front panel lights

The front panel lights can indicate various status conditions of the all-in-one. The lights and the conditions represented by them are covered in detail in the HP PSC 1100 Series Reference Guide in chapter two and in HP document The Meaning of Lights Flashing on the HP PSC 1100 or 1200 Series Front Panel (c00007641).
