Performing a Partial Reset of the All-in-One

Introduction

There are times when a partial reset may be required to restore the all-in-one to proper operation. A partial reset does the following:
  • Reset the user settings to the factory defaults.
  • Reset the language and country/region settings on some models.
NOTE:The HP Officejet 500 or 600 series must be connected to a computer running the all-in-one software to perform a partial reset. Do not perform this process if the unit cannot be connected to a computer.

Performing a partial reset

Follow the steps below to perform a partial reset of the all-in-one:
  1. Unplug the power cord from the all-in-one.
  2. In the table below, locate the button combination for your model.
    NOTE:If your all-in-one model is not listed in the table, your model does not have a partial reset option.
  3. Press and hold the button combination for your all-in-one.
  4. While still holding the buttons down, plug the power cord back in. Release the buttons after the all-in-one starts up.

Note: For models that are not fax capable, press Plus (+ ) instead of # .
HP PSC 1100 seriesDisconnect and then reconnect the power cord. When the lights begin to flash, press and hold On and Paper Size . When only the On light is flashing, release both buttons. When the On light is steady, the reset is complete.
HP PSC 1200 series

HP PSC 1300 series		Disconnect and then reconnect the power cord. When the lights begin to flash, press and hold On/Resume and Paper Size . When only the On/Resume light is flashing, release both buttons. When the On/Resume light is steady, the reset is complete.
HP Color Copier 180, 190, 280, and 290

HP Officejet G55 and G55xi 		Press and hold Minus (- ) and 3 while plugging in the power cord.
HP Digital Copier 310

HP PSC 700 series

HP PSC 2110 series

HP PSC 2170 series		Press and hold Cancel and the Left Arrow while plugging in the power cord.
HP Officejet T series Press and hold * and 8 while plugging in the power cord.
HP Officejet 500 series

HP Officejet 700 series 		Press and hold 2 and 3 while plugging in the power cord.
