'User Intervention Required' Error Message When Printing

Introduction

These messages indicate a problem with the HP All-in-One. Look at the HP All-in-One front panel and see if there are any messages displayed. Perform any actions or correct any errors indicated by the front panel.
If a User Intervention Required is message displayed, restart the print job by following the steps below for your Windows version:

Microsoft Windows XP

  1. Click Start and then click Printers and Faxes to open the Printers folder.
  2. Locate and double-click the Printer icon (not the fax icon if one is present) for the HP All-in-One. A window opens with a list of print tasks currently assigned to the printer.
  3. Highlight the first document in the list and click Printer . If Pause Printing or Use Printer Offline are checked, click to remove the check mark.
  4. If the page does not print, click Document and then click Restart .

Microsoft Windows 98, Me, and 2000

  1. Click Start , click Settings , and then click Printers to open the Printers folder.
  2. Locate and double-click the Print er icon (not the fax icon if one is present) for the all-in-one. A window opens with a list of print tasks currently assigned to the printer.
  3. Highlight the first document in the list and click Printer . If Pause Printing or Use Printer Offline are checked, click to remove the check mark.
