'User Intervention Required' Error Message When Printing

Introduction

These messages indicate a problem with the HP All-in-One. Look at the HP All-in-One front panel and see if there are any messages displayed. Perform any actions or correct any errors indicated by the front panel.
If a User Intervention Required is message displayed, restart the print job by following the steps below for your Windows version:

Microsoft Windows XP

  1. Click Start and then click Printers and Faxes to open the Printers folder.
  2. Locate and double-click the Printer icon (not the fax icon if one is present) for the HP All-in-One. A window opens with a list of print tasks currently assigned to the printer.
  3. Highlight the first document in the list and click Printer. If Pause Printing or Use Printer Offline are checked, click to remove the check mark.
  4. If the page does not print, click Document and then click Restart.

Microsoft Windows 98, Me, and 2000

  1. Click Start, click Settings, and then click Printers to open the Printers folder.
  2. Locate and double-click the Printer icon (not the fax icon if one is present) for the all-in-one. A window opens with a list of print tasks currently assigned to the printer.
  3. Highlight the first document in the list and click Printer. If Pause Printing or Use Printer Offline are checked, click to remove the check mark.
