Version Control Repository Manager v2.0, Version Control Agents v2.0

The Version Control Repository Manager and agents catalogs system software downloaded into your environment. Software may be downloaded automatically or manually
The Version Control Repository Manager is an HP Insight Management Agent that allows you to manage software from HP that is stored in a repository.
The Version Control Repository Manager catalogs system software downloaded into your environment. Software may be downloaded automatically through Insight Manager,  manually from http://www.hp.com, or from a SmartStart CD. Software is organized into groups by function and operating system. You may view detailed information about each piece of software, simply by clicking on the software component name. The Version Control Repository Manager also allows you to create customized groupings of software, which can then serve as a system software baseline for the entire managed environment.
The Version Control Agent is a management agent that is installed on a server to allow you to see the HP software that is installed on that server. The Version Control Agent can be configured to point to a repository being managed by the Version Control Repository Manager, allowing easy version comparison and software update from the repository to the server that the Version Control Agent is installed upon.
Version Control Repository Manager installation is supported on Windows platforms and Version Control Agent installation is supported on Windows and Linux platforms.
NOTE: Legacy  Version Control Installations should be upgraded Older versions of either Version Control Repository Manager and agents should be upgraded or replaced. Old agents will not work with a newer Version Control Repository Manager, and new Agents may not communicate with an older version of Version Control Repository Manager.

About Version Control Repository Manager
Features
  • Version Control Repository Manager (VCRM) lets administrators Display all of the ProLiant and Integrity Support Packs and components stored in the repository
  • VCRM can  delete multiple ProLiant and Integrity Support Packs and components from the repository if required.
  • VCRM  lets administrators  Copy multiple ProLiant and Integrity Support Packs and components to another repository
  • Version Control Repository Manager integrates with Insight Manager 7, providing a catalog of software that is available in the repository and downloading from www.hp.com if so configured.
  • Version Control Repository Manager (and agents) replace the Active Update utility effective November 2003 for automatic downloading of update files. .
