Software Prerequisites
  • Server Installation - Operating System requirements: Windows NT 4.0, Server Pack 6 or later and Windows 2000; CPU requirements: Dual Pentium III 500 Mhz and above; System Memory: 512 MB RAM or more; Disk Capacity Requirement: 200 MB free space or more; Other: Supports multiple Data Protector Cell Managers from a single Media Operations server.
  • Integration Agent (XML Gateway) Installation - Operating System requirements: Windows NT, Windows 2000, HPUX 11.0 and later, Solarisä 7, Solaris 8.
  • PC Client Installation (GUI) - Operating System Requirements: Windows 98 Second Edition or later, Windows NT 4.0, Server Pack 6 or later, Windows 2000 and Windows XP; CPU: Celeron and above; System Memory: 256 RAM minimum; Disk Capacity Requirements: 25MB free disk space.
  • Web Client: Microsoft Exchange or Netscape Navigator browsers required.
Hardware Support
  • Any tape library supported by HP OpenView Storage Data Protector for tape ejects and loads.
  • Zebra thermal 300 dpi barcoded media label printer.
  • Any scanner with keyboard emulation with "Enter Key" suffixing (e.g., automatically adds an "Enter Key" keystroke to each scanned barcode).

Media Operations offers a professional solution for IT operations that manage thousands of removable media. It tracks all media whether online, offline, or offsite. Data retention and media recycling policies are enforced for assured service quality. To guarantee backup success, Media Operations monitors media quality and preloads libraries with sufficient scratch tapes.
