Set Up the Hardware

Introduction

Follow the instructions below to set up the printer hardware. This document does not explain how to install the software or operate the unit.

Setting up the hardware

Step one: Remove all tape and cardboard from the product

Remove the tape, packing material, and protective film from inside and around the camera and printer.

Step two: Check the contents of the box

The contents might vary by country/region. See the packaging for a list of items shipped in the box.

Step three: Connect the power cord

2 - Plugging the power cord into an outlet

Plug the printer end of the power cord into the back of the printer.
Plug the remaining end of the power cord into a grounded wall outlet or surge protector.
Press to turn on the printer.

Step four: Set the language and country/region

When Select Language displays on the printer screen, press or on the printer to scroll through the languages until the desired language is highlighted.
Press OK on the printer to select the highlighted language.
When Set LCD language to (your language) displays on the printer screen, press or to highlight Yes .
Press OK .
When Select country/region displays on the printer screen, press or on the printer to highlight your country/region.
Press OK .

Step five: Prepare the print cartridge

Open the print cartridge package.
Pull the pink pull-tab to remove the clear tape from the print cartridge.

CAUTION:Do not touch or remove the ink nozzles or the copper-colored contacts.

Step six: Install the print cartridge

Open the output tray. The input tray opens and the printer screen pops up automatically.
Open the print cartridge door.

Insert the print cartridge into the print cartridge cradle with the label facing up and the copper-colored contacts facing the inside of the printer.

Push the print cartridge into the cradle until it snaps into place.
Close the print cartridge door.

Step seven: Print an alignment page

Printing an alignment page ensures high print quality.
