Older HP Printer Model Support on Intel Macs

Introduction
HP officially does not support printing from Intel Macs with the following older printer models:
  • HP Photosmart 100, 130 and 230 series printers
  • HP Photosmart P1000, 1115, 1215, 1218, and 1315 series printers
  • HP Photosmart 7150, 7350, and 7550 series printers
  • HP Officejet 5100, 7100, G, and D series all-in-ones
  • HP PSC 700 and 900 series products
Workaround
The following workaround may provide print-only functionality.
  1. Install the product’s software normally. Either from the CD that came with your product, or from downloading the latest software for your product from www.hp.com/go/support
  2. Click Applications , then Utilities , and then click Printer Setup Utility .

  3. Select the Get Info option (Apple + I or File/Get Info).

  4. Check the Open Using Rosetta box.

  5. If the Printer Setup Utility was previously open, first close and then reopen the Printer Setup Utility in order for it to accept the changes.
  6. Click Add .

  7. Click More Printers .

  8. Select hp photosmart in the top drop down box.

  9. Select the product and click Add .
