Lights Flashing on the Front Panel

Introduction
The printer lights indicate the printer status. These lights can be on, off, or flashing, depending on the status of the printer. The sections below describe the most common combinations of flashing lights, what they mean, and how to fix the issue.
NOTE: The light patterns described in this document are also described as blinking or flashing lights. Flash means the same as blink in this document. If the printer lights flash or blink, this describes the same symptom.
There may be more than one reason why the printer lights are blinking, hence there may be several solutions available.

Issue

Front panel overlay is not attached at all or not attached properly

Solution

  1. Turn Off the all-in-one.
  2. Attach front panel overlay as instructed on Setup Poster.
  3. Turn On the all-in-one.

Issue

The all-in-one is turned Off.

Solution

Press the On button to turn on the all-in-one.

The all-in-one is On and ready.

Solution

Copy, scan, or print.

Solution

Wait for the all-in-one to complete the job.

Solution

Issue

Solution

Issue

Out of paper.

Solution

Load paper and press the On/Resume button.



Issue

Paper jam.

Solution

Remove the paper jam and press the On/Resume button.



Issue

The paper size set for job and size detected do not match. All error conditions like this one, which doesn’t have a normal termination, are presented until the next job is started, a button is pressed, or a card is removed.

Solution

Change the paper in the In tray, change the layout size on the proof sheet, or change the paper size on copy software.

The door is open.

Solution

Close the door.



Issue

The print cartridges not seated fully or are missing.

Solution

Reinsert the print cartridges.



Issue

The tape is not removed from the print cartridges.

Solution

Remove the tape from the print cartridges.



Issue

The print cartridge may be defective.

Solution

  1. Remove the black or photo print cartridge.
  2. Close the door.
  3. If the On light blinks, replace the tri-color print cartridge.
  4. If the On light does not blink, replace the black or photo print cartridge.
  5. Turn on the computer to see the status message for more details.

Issue

The print carriage is stalled.

Solution

Open the door and check that the carriage is not obstructed.

Issue

Scanner failure.

Solution

  1. Turn Off the all-in-one.
  2. Unplug the power cord.
  3. Wait 30 to 45 seconds, then plug the power cord back in.
  4. Turn On the all-in-one.

Issue

Fatal error.

Solution

Service the product.
