Macintosh: Resetting the Printing System in Mac OS X

  • PrintPrint

Introduction

If normal troubleshooting does not resolve certain errors or issues when printing, scanning, or faxing, resetting the Mac OS X printing system might help. A printing system reset might resolve certain issues such as:
  • Print jobs that are stuck in the queue
  • An incomplete print driver installation
  • Communications issues between the printer and the Mac
NOTE:Use this reset type as a last solution. This reset deletes all print settings and pending print jobs from the Mac. Before you perform the reset, try searching the HP Support and Drivers website for a document on resolving the issue that you are currently experiencing.
