  • PrintPrint

Introduction

This document provides simple maintenance procedures to clean the product and keep it in good working condition.

Cleaning the HP All-in-One

Follow these steps to clean the product.

Cleaning the top side of the glass

Fingerprints, smudges, hair, and dust on the main glass surface slow down performance and affect the accuracy of the copy and scan features. Follow these steps to clean the glass.
  1. Turn off the product, unplug the power cord, and raise the lid.
  2. Clean the glass with a soft cloth or sponge slightly moistened with a non abrasive glass cleaner.
CAUTION:Do not use abrasives, acetone, benzene, or carbon tetrachloride on the glass, because they can damage it. Do not place or spray liquid directly on the glass. The liquid might seep under the glass and damage the product.

  3. Dry the glass with a dry, soft, lint-free cloth to prevent spotting.
  4. Plug in the power cord, and then turn on the product.

Cleaning the lid backing

Minor debris can accumulate on the white document backing underneath the lid of the product. Follow these steps to clean the lid backing.
  1. Turn off the product, unplug the power cord, and raise the lid.
  2. Clean the white document backing with a soft cloth or sponge slightly moistened with a mild soap and warm water.
Wash the backing gently to loosen debris. Do not scrub the backing.

  3. Dry the backing with a dry, soft, lint-free cloth.
CAUTION:Do not use paper-based wipes, as these might scratch the backing.
  4. For further cleaning, repeat the previous steps using isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol, and wipe the backing thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any residual alcohol.
CAUTION:Be careful not to spill alcohol on the glass or exterior of the product, as this might damage it.
  5. Plug in the power cord, and then turn on the product.

Cleaning the exterior

CAUTION:To avoid damage to the exterior of the product, do not use alcohol or alcohol-based cleaning products.
Use a soft, damp, lint-free cloth to wipe dust, smudges, and stains off the case. The exterior of the product does not require cleaning. Keep fluids away from the interior of the product and the control panel.
