Issue
The product does not turn on. There are no blinking lights on the front of the product, and the product does not respond.

NOTE:Some products take several minutes to turn on without any blinking lights on the control panel. Wait a minute or two to allow time for the product to turn on before troubleshooting.

Try the following solutions in the order presented to resolve the issue. When one of the solutions resolves the issue, there is no need to continue troubleshooting.
Solution one: Start a Power On/Off cycle
Follow these steps to start a Power On/Off cycle. Chose one of the methods depending on whether your product has a Power button (
) or a Power switch.

Press and quickly release the Power button (
) to start a Power On/Off cycle. Do not hold down the button

If you press and hold the Power button too long, the product might turn on and then off without restarting. If this happens, press and quickly release the Power button again.Method two: Use the Power switch
- Press the Power switch to turn off the product.
- Press the Power switch to turn on the product.
- If these steps resolved the issue , you do not need to continue troubleshooting.
- If the issue persists , continue to the next solution.
Solution two: Check the electrical connections and outlet
- Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet, or the power strip or surge suppressor, and from the back of the product.
- Inspect the power cord for visible damage.
If the power cord shows any damage, contact HP to replace the power cord. - Wait at least 30 seconds, and then plug the disconnected power cord into an electrical outlet. Do not use a power strip or surge suppressor.
- Reconnect the power cord to the product.
- Turn on the product.
- If the product still does not turn on, connect the product to an electrical outlet in another room, and then turn on the product.
- If the product turns on , the electrical outlet in the original room caused the issue.
- If the product still does not turn on , continue to the next solution.
Solution three: Check the USB cable
- Disconnect the USB cable (
) from the back of the product. - Turn on the product.
- If the product turns on with the USB cable disconnected , replace the USB cable.
- If the product still does not turn on , continue to the next solution.
Solution four: Test the power cord on another product
Connect the power cord to another product, such as a computer monitor, a desktop computer, or another printer.
- If the power cord works on another product , continue to the next solution to service the product.
- If the power cord does not work on another product , contact HP to replace the power cord.
Solution five: Service the printer
If you have completed all the preceding steps and are still experiencing a problem, service the product.
