| Software and personal data (such as picture, music, videos, e-mail, and so on) that you have installed on the notebook will be lost when the operating system is reinstalled. Make a backup copy of all personal data before beginning this process. For information on creating a backup copy of your data, see Microsoft's Backup Basics (in English). |
| When prompted to select a language for the installation, select the language that you will use most often. This is very important for support with right-to-left languages and languages that use double-byte characters (such as Simplified and Traditional Chinese). The language used for the installation sets the default keyboard layout and language used by the operating system to display menus and notifications. If necessary, you can later change the language used by Windows or add Supplemental language support . |
