Configuring Panda Internet Security 2009 to Allow a Connection with the All-in-One

Introduction

Panda Internet Security 2009 Firewall blocks certain functions of the HP networked printer. You might be unable to fax, scan, and access the toolbox on the networked HP product. An error messages might display during the execution of certain functions.
This document provides steps for configuring Panda Internet Security 2009 to allow a connection with the product.

Configuring Panda Internet Security 2009 to allow a connection with the All-in-One

Follow these steps to configure the Panda Internet Security 2009 with your product.

Step one: Update the latest version of Panda Internet Security

Before you begin configuring the Panda Internet Security 2009, make sure that you have the latest version of Panda security software. Use the installation CD to install your product.

Step two: Open HP Solution Center

A warning message that indicates your product is offline displays after you open HP Solution Center.
Open HP Solution Center:
    Click Start , click All Programs , and then click the HP folder . Select HP Solution Center . HP Solution Center opens.
    Click the Windows icon ( ), click All Programs , and then click the HP folder . Select HP Solution Center . HP Solution Center opens.
NOTE:An error message displays indicating that your product is offline.

Step three: Power down the All-in-One and the computer

Follow these steps to resolve the error messages that indicate your product is offline.
NOTE:Some of the following solutions require you to restart the computer. Consider bookmarking this page on your Web browser, so that you can reference it after restarting the computer.
  1. Press the Power button ( ) to turn off the product, and then press the Power button ( ) to turn the product on again.
  2. Once your product has finished powering up, reboot your computer.
  3. Open HP Solution Center again, and you should see a message indicating that your product is connected. All functions of your product will now work correctly.
    Open HP Solution Center:
      Click Start , click All Programs , and then click the HP folder . Select HP Solution Center . HP Solution Center opens.
      Click the Windows icon ( ), click All Programs , and then click the HP folder . Select HP Solution Center . HP Solution Center opens.
    NOTE:If you still see the warning that indicates the product is offline, repeat the steps to Power down the All-in-One and the computer.
