Visual C++ Runtime Error: Buffer overrun detected!

This document pertains only to TouchSmart PCs with Windows Vista.
While updating Windows Vista to service pack 2, the following error opens:
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Buffer overrun detected!
Program:...ckard\TouchSmart\Media\Kernel\CLML\CLMLSvc.exe
A buffer overrun has been detected which has corrupted the program's internal state. The program cannot safely continue execution and must now be terminated.

The error is related to a background task that must be stopped before Service Pack 2 can be installed. The error is harmless.
Click OK to close the error and continue installing Service Pack 2 for Windows Vista.
