This document provides steps for configuring Blink Personal Edition 4.7.1 to allow a connection with the product.
Configuring Blink Personal Edition 4.7.1 to allow a connection with the All-in-One
Follow these steps to configure Blink Personal Edition 4.7.1.
Double-click the Blink Personal Edition 4.7.1 icon (
) in the lower right corner of the computer screen (the notification area).
The Blink Personal Edition window opens.
Click Firewall
.
Click View all firewall rules
.
Click the System Wide Rules
tab.
In the left column, click Add a rule
.
The System Wide Firewall Rule Wizard displays.
Click the Next
button.
Select Allow
, and then click the Next
button.
Select IP
, and then click the Next
button.
Select Any Direction
, and then click the Next
button.
Select Specify local IP addresses for this rule
, and then click the Add
button.
The Add IP Filter window displays.
Select IP range
. In the From
field, enter 192.168.0.0
. In the To
field, enter 192.168.255.255
.
NOTE:Some home network routers may use a different IP address format than that used in this example. Other less common formats are “10.0.0.0 - 10.255.255.255” and “172.16.0.0 – 172.16.255.255”. See your router documentation for the format your network router uses.
Click the OK
button.
The System Wide Firewall Rule Wizard window displays with the IP address range you entered.
Click the Next
button.
Enter a name and description (such as HP Printer
and Allows printer communication
), and then click the Next
button.
Review the next screen to make sure they match the changes you made, and then click Finish
.
The new rule displays on the Firewall Rules
window.
Close the Blink Personal Edition window.
If the product software is not installed, install it now.
If you installed your product software earlier, double-click the product shortcut on your Desktop to connect the printer.
If you see firewall alerts while installing the product software or connecting your product to your network, click Allow
so that the software successfully installs or connects.
Your product is now able to be found over your network connection.
