Introduction
This document provides instructions for loading plain paper and specialty paper such as card stock, envelopes, photo paper, and labels.
Use the following steps to load paper in the product.
Step one: Load paper in Tray 1
- Lift Tray 1 until it locks in an open position.
- Pull out the paper tray.
- Slide the paper width guides out.
- Load up to 250 sheets of plain white paper in the center of the tray, with the print side down and short edge forward. Make sure the stack of paper aligns with the engraved lines in the tray.
NOTE:Do not load paper while the printer is printing. - Slide the paper width guides in until they rest on the edges of the paper.
- Push the bottom of the tray toward the product until it locks into place.
- Lower the output tray.
Step two: Load paper in optional Tray 2
If your model includes Tray 2, which is an optional accessory, follow these steps to load paper.

NOTE:Tray 2 only supports plain letter or A4 paper.
- Grasp the underside of Tray 2, and then pull the tray out.
- Slide the paper width guides out.
- Load a stack of plain white paper print-side down in the center of the tray. Make sure the stack of paper aligns with the engraved lines in the tray.
- Adjust the paper width guides so that they rest on the edges of the paper.
- Gently reinsert the tray into the printer.
Follow these steps to load specialty paper such as card stock, envelopes, photo paper, or labels.

for your printer to make sure that your printer supports the size, type, and weight of the paper that you want to print.

NOTE:You can print specialty paper only from Tray 1. Specialty media cannot be printed from Tray 2, if your printer has a Tray 2.
- Lift the output tray.
- Pull out the paper tray.
- Slide the paper width guides out.
- Load the stack of paper in the center of the tray, with the print side down and short edge forward. Make sure the stack of paper aligns with the engraved lines in the tray. If envelopes are being loaded, load envelopes flap side up with the flap pointing to the right.
NOTE:Do not load paper while the printer is printing. - Make sure that the stack of paper height does not exceed the dotted line stack label height located inside the input tray.
- Slide the paper width guides in until they rest against the edges of the paper.
- Lower the output tray.
- Pull out the tray extender.
NOTE:Do not leave photo paper in the main tray for extended periods of time. Leaving photo paper in the tray might cause decreased print quality.
