Do I need to make an HP purchase to get Rewards?
Yes. The Rewards program is linked to the purchase of Genuine HP cartridges and is activated when you place Genuine HP cartridges into your printer.
How do I make sure my purchases are Genuine HP supplies?
When you insert and first use a Genuine HP Cartridge, the printer will automatically identify the Genuine HP cartridges and guide you through the process to claim a reward.
If the printer does not identify the cartridge as a Genuine HP product, you are notified. If you believe that you bought a new, Genuine HP ink cartridge, visit us at:

How often will Rewards be updated?
Hewlett-Packard Company may at any time, and without notice, add, change, replace or remove Rewards.
Do Rewards expire?
Please refer to the terms and conditions of your selected Reward.
‘This cartridge has already been inserted and allowed access to the Rewards offers. It is no longer eligible for a reward’ - What does this message mean?
There are two scenarios that could cause this message. Either the cartridge was previously inserted into your printer, or someone else using your printer already accessed the Reward site for this cartridge.
I installed a Genuine cartridge, but wasn't offered a reward – why not?
There are several possible reasons:
- If your computer was not turned on and connected to the internet when you first installed your cartridge, the system will be unable to confirm that the cartridge is Genuine HP. Make sure your computer is turned on and connected to the internet. Then the software can run and offer special Rewards for purchasing Genuine HP supplies (Rewards may not be available in all regions).
- When the cartridge is first installed, printers that have a display will show a 'Genuine HP' message. If the Genuine HP message is dismissed on the printer display, the Rewards opportunity will not show on the computer.
- You left the Rewards site or closed the Rewards window before claiming a Reward. At this time, HP is only able to provide access to the Rewards site when Genuine HP cartridges are inserted and used for printing for the first time.
- If you are using a shared or networked printer, someone else on the network may have claimed the Reward or dismissed the Rewards offer window.
- The cartridge may have been previously installed in a printer.
- Rewards may not be available in your country or region. HP would like to make Rewards available in all countries and regions. We are sorry that there are no Rewards in your country at present. Please watch for Rewards in your country the next time you install a Genuine HP cartridge.
- Your printer may not be eligible for Rewards at this time. Your printer must be using Genuine HP ink cartridges to be eligible, and you must have installed HP printer software version 022 or higher (for Windows only) on your connected computer. You can check your printer’s software version number by opening the printer software and then clicking Estimated Ink Levels. When the Printer Toolbox opens, click the Device Information tab. If the Software Version number begins with the number 022 or higher, your Inkjet printer is eligible.
- The Rewards page appears the first time you print after installing new Genuine HP cartridges, so that whether you install one cartridge or several between print jobs, the Rewards page will only appear once.
- The cartridge may be non-HP or refilled. The Rewards program is linked to the purchase and use of Genuine HP cartridges and is activated when you place an HP cartridge into your printer.
Can I bookmark the Rewards site?
No. At this time, HP is only able to provide access to the Rewards site when Genuine HP cartridges are inserted for the first time.
Do I need to register to claim Rewards?
No. Just insert your new HP Genuine cartridge into your printer and then follow the link to claim your reward.
How do I claim Rewards?
To claim Rewards, simply insert your new HP Genuine cartridges, print, and then follow the link to Rewards.
How do I become a member?
There is no need to become a member to claim Rewards.
What if I am a member of another HP Rewards Program?
That is no problem. Enjoy these Rewards in addition to your other programs.
How does HP know that I inserted a Genuine HP cartridge?
HP has developed technology to recognize the use of a Genuine HP cartridge so that we can reward you appropriately.
Why do I have to select a Country of Residence?
We want to make sure that the offers and promotions that we present to you are available in your country/region.
Can I donate my Reward to a charity?
This is not an option at present.
How will I learn if I won the sweepstakes? (only applicable in certain country/regions)
