When installing updates for Microsoft Office applications through Windows Update or through Microsoft Update, one of the following error codes appears:
- Error 1 0x80070646
- Error 2 646
- Error 3 “Error 1606 Could not access network location %APPDATA%”
Windows 7 - Using the Windows Update Troubleshooter
To resolve this issue in Windows 7, use the Windows Update Troubleshooter:
- Click Start , enter find and fix problems in the search field, then select Find and Fix Problems from the search results list.
- Under the System and Security troubleshooting category, click Fix problems with Windows Update .If prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
- When the Windows Update Troubleshooter opens, click Next and follow the on-screen instructions.
