HP Photosmart 7660 Photo Printer Troubleshooting

I Cannot Tell if the Windows Version on My Computer is 32-bit or 64-bit

Issue

Some software and drivers install only on 32-bit Windows operating system types. Some install only on 64-bit Windows system types. To download software and drivers from HP download sites, you might need to select a 32-bit or 64-bit version of the software.

NOTE:If an HP software download page does not list 32-bit or 64-bit, the system type is 32-bit.
Continue to the next section for steps to check your system type, depending on your operating system.

Solution

Click the Plus sign ( ) next to your operating system for steps to find which Windows system type you have.

  1. Right-click or tap and hold the lower left corner of the screen, and then click or tap System in the menu.
  2. Find System Type in the System window, and then note whether your operating system is 32-bit or 64-bit.

  1. Click the Windows icon ( ), and then right-click Computer .
  2. Select Properties .
  3. Find System Type on the Properties screen, and then note whether your operating system is 32-bit or 64-bit.

  1. Click Start , and then right-click My Computer .
  2. Select Properties .
  3. On the General tab, find the Windows XP version name listed under System .
    • If the version name contains the text x64 Edition , your computer has a 64-bit version of Windows XP.
    • If x64 Edition does not display, your computer has a 32-bit version of Windows XP.
