When you try to print from your mobile device to your HP printer using Apple AirPrint or the HP ePrint mobile app, your mobile device displays one of the following error messages:
  • 'No Printers Found '
  • 'No Printers Available '

The HP ePrint mobile app is available for Apple iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch running iOS 4.2 or later and for Android mobile devices running OS 2.2 and later. You can easily print your digital content wirelessly to supported HP printers on a local wireless network. Additionally, if a supported HP ePrint-enabled printer is registered with HP ePrintCenter, print via the Cloud at home, the office, or on-the-go, whenever the printer is connected to the Internet. You can even print to thousands of HP ePrint Public Print Locations worldwide.
For Apple devices, the HP ePrint mobile app is available for free in the Apple App Store or as an update to HP ePrint Home & Biz. For Android mobile devices, the HP ePrint mobile app is available for free in the Google Play Store or as an update to HP ePrint Home and Biz.
Follow these solutions to resolve the issue when you try to print from Apple AirPrint.
Important : You must follow these solutions in the order presented to resolve the issue.

Solution one: Turn the router, the Apple device, and the HP printer off and on, and then make sure that they are on the network

Follow these steps to restart the router, Apple device, and HP printer.

Step one: Turn the router, the Apple device, and the HP printer off

Follow these steps to turn off the router, Apple device, and HP printer.
  1. Turn off the router. Check with the router manufacturer for instructions on how to turn off the router.
    NOTE:Do not reset the router.
  2. Press the Power button ( ) to turn off the HP printer.
  3. Turn off the Apple device.

Step two: Turn the router and HP printer on

Follow these steps to turn the router and HP printer on.
NOTE:Do not turn on the Apple device in this step. You will turn it on in one of the following steps.
  1. Turn on the router, and then wait 30 seconds to let it complete its start-up process.
  2. Press the Power button ( ) to turn on the HP printer.

Step three: Make sure that the HP printer is on the network

Follow these steps to make sure that the HP printer is on the network.
  1. On the printer's control panel, press the Wireless button ( ). The Wireless menu displays.
  2. Press the button ( ) next to the Down Arrow ( ) to scroll through the options and select Print Reports , and then press the button ( ) next to OK .
  3. Press the button ( ) next to Configuration . The configuration page prints.
  4. On the configuration page, make sure that the Network Name (SSID) is correct.

Step four: Turn on the Apple device

Follow these steps to turn on the Apple device.
  1. Hold your Apple device vertically with the Home button ( ) at the bottom of the device.
  2. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button ( ) on the top of your Apple device until the Apple logo displays to turn on the device.

Step five: Connect the Apple device to the network

Follow these steps to connect the Apple device to the network.
  1. On your Apple device, tap the Settings icon ( ).
  2. Tap the Wi-Fi menu item. Make sure that the toggle shows On .
  3. Under Choose a Network , tap the name of your local wireless network.
  4. If prompted, enter your WPA passphrase or WEP key using the on-screen keypad, and then tap the Join button on the keypad. A checkmark ( ) displays next to the Network Name to confirm that the Apple device is connected to the wireless network.
  5. Touch the Home button ( ) on the Apple device to return to the home screen.
  6. Move your Apple device as close to the router as possible, but no closer than 1.8 meters (6 feet).

Step six: Turn off Bluetooth

Bluetooth is a wireless connection that might interfere with printing. Follow these steps to turn off Bluetooth on your Apple device.
  1. On your Apple device, tap the Settings icon ( ).
  2. Tap the Bluetooth menu item. Make sure that the toggle shows Off .

Step seven: Try to print from your Apple device

Follow these steps to print from your Apple device.
  1. Load clean, plain white paper into the HP printer paper tray.
  2. On your Apple device, open a photo or web page:
    • Photo : On your Apple device, open Photo Gallery , and then open a photo of your choice.
    • Web page : Open Safari , and then browse to a web page of your choice.
  3. Tap the Action icon ( ) or ( ), and then tap Print .
  4. If your HP printer does not display on the Printer line under Printer Options , tap Select Printer to open a list of networked printers, and then tap your HP printer.
  5. When your HP printer displays on the Printer line, tap Print .
  • If these steps resolved the issue , you do not need to continue troubleshooting.
  • If the issue persists , continue to the next solution.

Solution two: Update the HP printer, upgrade your Apple device, and then try to print

Follow these steps to update the HP printer, upgrade your Apple device, and then try to print.
Important : The HP printer must connect to a wired (Ethernet) or wireless network with an active Internet connection to receive updates. However, the HP printer does not need to be connected to a computer.

Step one: Update the printer from the control panel

  1. From the product control panel, press the ePrint button ( ). The Web Services Settings menu displays.
  2. Press the button ( ) next to the Down Arrow ( ) to select Check Product Updates , and then press the button ( ) next to OK .
    Follow the on-screen instructions to perform a product update.
    NOTE:
    • To update automatically while in the Web Services Settings menu, touch Turn Automatic Update On , and then press the button ( ) next to OK .
    • If you choose not to update automatically, check for updates every week to make sure that you get the most out of your HP product.

Step two: Upgrade the Apple device to the most current iOS

AirPrint is included with Apple's operating system iOS 4.2 or later. To make sure that you have Apple AirPrint, sync your Apple device with iTunes 10.1 or later to upgrade your Apple device to the most current iOS.

Step three: Try to print from Apple AirPrint

Try to print from Apple AirPrint.
  • If these steps resolved the issue , you do not need to continue troubleshooting.
  • If the issue persists , continue to the next solution.

Solution three: Make sure that your router can forward Bonjour packets, and then turn the Apple device off and on

Follow these steps to make sure that your router can forward Bonjour packets, and then turn the Apple device off and on.

Step one: Make sure that your router can forward Bonjour packets

Not all wireless routers support Bonjour
A technology used to discover devices installed on a network, including printers.
or all of Bonjour's features. Since Bonjour is the default method for discovering printers on a network, you must first make sure that your wireless router supports Bonjour.
    Bonjour is a technology that is built into Mac OS and iOS. This technology discovers devices such as printers that are installed on the same network as a Mac or Apple mobile device. Bonjour is the default method for discovering devices on a network.
Check the specifications or support documentation for your router, or contact the router manufacturer, to make sure that your router supports Bonjour. It must also support forwarding Bonjour packets.

  • If your router supports Bonjour , continue to the next solution in this document.
  • If your router does not support Bonjour , contact the router manufacturer for options. Alternatively, you can work around the issue by adding the printer with the printer IP address.

Step two: Turn the Apple device off and on

Follow these steps to turn off the Apple device, and then turn it back on again.
  1. Hold your Apple device vertically with the Home button ( ) at the bottom of the device.
  2. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button ( ) on the top of your Apple device for a few seconds until a red slider displays.
  3. Slide the slider to the right to turn off your device.
  4. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button ( ) on the top of your Apple device until the Apple logo displays to turn on the device.
  5. Try to print from your Apple device.
  • If these steps resolved the issue , you do not need to continue troubleshooting.
  • If the issue persists , continue to the next solution.

Solution four: Try to print from another device on the same network as the HP printer, and then reset the HP printer

Follow these steps to print from another device on the same network as the HP printer, and then reset the HP printer.

Step one: Try to print from another device on the same network as the HP printer

Try to print from another networked device to the HP printer. Examples of networked devices include your computer and another Apple device.

Step two: Reset the HP printer

  1. Press the Power button or switch to turn on the printer, if it is not already on.
  2. With the printer turned on , disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  3. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  4. Wait at least 15 seconds.
  5. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  6. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  7. If the printer does not turn on by itself, press the Power button or switch to turn it on.
  8. Try to print from your mobile device.

    4. Tap Photos .
    5. Tap Camera Roll or Photo Library .
    6. Tap a photo to preview it.
    7. Use any of the following methods to edit your photo. Tap once to enter the Edit mode. When you are done editing, tap once to return to Preview mode.
      • Pinch open and pinch close to make the image larger or smaller. Note that the quality of a photo can be poorly affected if it is enlarged too much.
      • Drag the photo to position it on the preview page.
      • Place two fingers on the photo, and then move them to rotate the photo on the preview page.
      • Double-tap to undo any changes and scale the photo to fit the page.
    8. Tap Print , or, if necessary, tap Settings to select another HP printer or to change the print settings, and then tap Print .
    Sending documents as email attachments is an easy way to transfer documents to your Apple device. Follow these steps to print a document attached in an email message with the HP ePrint mobile app.
    1. Make sure that the HP printer is turned on and connected to the local wireless network.
    2. Make sure to load the HP printer with the correct type of paper.
    3. From your email account on your computer, attach the document that you want to print to an email message, and then send it to your email address.
    4. On your Apple device, tap the HP ePrint mobile app icon.

    5. Tap Email .
    6. Tap your email account, tap Inbox , and then tap the email message with the attached document.
        If you have not added your email account to the HP ePrint mobile app yet, follow these steps to add the account.
        1. From the app home screen, tap the Settings icon ( ).
        2. Tap Email Accounts , and then tap Add account .
        3. Tap your email service, and then enter your email address, domain (optional), username, and password.
        4. Tap Sign in .
    7. At the bottom of the message, tap the attachment to open it.
    8. Tap Print , or, if necessary, tap Settings to select another HP printer or to change the print settings, and then tap Print .
    Many Apple and third-party document management apps support printing with the HP ePrint mobile app. Follow these steps to print a document from a supported app.
    1. Make sure that the HP printer is turned on and connected to the local wireless network.
    2. Make sure to load the HP printer with the correct type of paper.
    3. Launch the document management app on your Apple device.
    4. Tap the Action icon ( ), and then tap Open in HP ePrint .

  3. Tap Delete , and then touch the Home button ( ) to finish uninstalling.

Step two: Prevent the HP ePrint mobile app from re-syncing with your Apple device

  1. Plug your Apple device into your computer.
  2. On your computer, open iTunes.
  3. Click the tab for your Apple device, and then click the Applications tab.
  4. In the Sync Applications list, click the checkbox next to HP ePrint .

Choose one of the following methods to reinstall the HP ePrint mobile app on your Apple device.
    1. On your Apple device, tap App Store .
    2. In the App Store Search feature, type HP ePrint , and then tap Search .
    3. In the Search results section, tap HP ePrint , tap FREE , and then tap INSTALL .
    4. If prompted, provide your iTunes account information, and then tap OK .

    2. Click iTunes Store from the left pane to open the iTunes Store.
    3. In the Search feature, type HP ePrint , and then press Enter .
    4. In the Search results section, find the HP ePrint mobile app, and then click the GET APP button.

    6. After the download is complete, connect your Apple device to the computer.
    7. Select your Apple device in the left pane of iTunes, click the Applications tab, click Apply , and then click Sync .

  4. Tap the checkmark in the box next to Bluetooth to turn off the Bluetooth connection.

Step six: Try to print from your Android mobile device

Use the following steps to print a photo, document, or webpage from your mobile device.
    1. Make sure that the HP printer is turned on and connected to the local wireless network.
    2. Make sure to load the HP printer with the correct type of paper.
    3. On your Android device, tap the HP ePrint mobile app icon.

    4. Tap Photos .
    5. Tap a photo, and then tap Print to preview it.
    6. Tap Print , or, if necessary, tap Settings to select another HP printer or to change the print settings, and then tap Print .
    Your mobile device saves files in one of the Saved Files folders when you transfer files from your computer to your mobile device, or when you use your mobile device to scan files. Follow these steps to print files stored on your mobile device with the HP ePrint mobile app.
    1. Make sure that the HP printer is turned on and connected to the local wireless network.
    2. Make sure to load the HP printer with the correct type of paper.
    3. On your Android device, tap the HP ePrint mobile app icon.

    4. Tap File , and then tap the file name to view the content.

    • If an update is available for the HP ePrint mobile app, select it, run the update, and then continue to the next step.
    • If an update is not available for the HP ePrint mobile app, continue to the next solution.

Step one: Try to print from another device on the same network as the HP printer

Try to print from another networked device to the HP printer. Example networked devices include your computer or another Android device.

Step two: Reset the HP printer

Follow these steps to reset the HP printer, and then print from your Android mobile device.
  1. Press the Power button or switch to turn on the printer, if it is not already on.
  2. With the printer turned on , disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  3. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  4. Wait at least 15 seconds.
  5. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  6. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  7. If the printer does not turn on by itself, press the Power button or switch to turn it on.
  8. Try to print from your mobile device.
  • If these steps resolved the issue , you do not need to continue troubleshooting.
  • If the issue persists , continue to the next solution.

Solution four: Uninstall and reinstall the HP ePrint mobile app on your Android mobile device

Follow these steps to uninstall, and then reinstall the HP ePrint mobile app on your Android mobile device.

Step one: Uninstall the HP ePrint mobile app

Follow these steps to remove the HP ePrint mobile app from the Android device.
  1. On your Android device, open the Manage Applications screen.
  2. Tap the Downloads tab.
  3. Tap HP ePrint , and then tap the Uninstall button.
  4. Tap OK to confirm that the HP ePrint mobile app is uninstalled.

Step two: Prevent the HP ePrint mobile app from re-syncing with your Android device

Follow these steps to turn off Auto-sync on your Android device.
  1. On your Android device, tap Menu , and then tap Settings . The screen displays your current sync settings and a list of your current accounts.
  2. Tap the checkbox next to Auto-sync to remove the checkmark.
  3. Return to the home screen of your Android device.

Step three: Reinstall the HP ePrint mobile app

Choose one of the following two methods to reinstall the HP ePrint mobile app on your Android device.
    1. On your Android device, tap the Play Store icon ( ).
    2. In the Play Store Search feature, type HP ePrint .
    3. In the Search results section, tap the HP ePrint mobile app icon.

    4. Tap Install , and then tap OK to download and install the HP ePrint mobile app.
    1. On your computer, open a browser and go to the Google Play Store website.
    2. In the Google Play Search feature, type HP ePrint , and then press Enter .
    3. Click the HP ePrint mobile app icon.

    4. Click Install , and then click OK to confirm your selection.
  • If these steps resolved the issue , you do not need to continue troubleshooting.
  • If the issue persists , continue to the next solution.

Solution five: Update your router with the most recent firmware, and then try to print

Check with the router manufacturer for instructions on how to update your router with the most recent firmware.
After you complete the firmware update, try to print from the HP ePrint mobile app.
