Issue
If you try to install older HP software (released before the introduction of Mountain Lion) that you downloaded from www.hp.com/support, you might receive an 'HP Installer' can't be opened because it is from an unidentified developer
warning message.
This is because the Mountain Lion security settings might be set to make sure that web-downloaded applications include a Developer ID. HP software installers published before the Mountain Lion introduction do not include the HP Developer ID, so the Mac displays the warning message.
If you receive this message during installation, do not worry. This is expected behavior. The message merely notifies you that you must obtain the updated HP software for Mac OS X v10.8 Mountain Lion in another way.
To resolve the message
, continue with the instructions in this document to obtain the updated HP software.
