Introduction
If there is paper jammed in the HP Deskjet 6127 printer, read and follow the instructions in this document.
CAUTION: Do not remove a paper jam by pulling paper from the front of the printer. Doing so could damage the printer.
Follow each of the steps below until the paper jam is cleared.
Step 1: Empty and reload paper
There may be a problem with the paper in the trays.
  1. Remove the paper from the in and the out trays.
If printing labels, check to make sure a label did not come detached from the page and stuck in the printer.
  2. Reload the in tray.
  3. Press the RESUME button.
If the paper jam is cleared, the printer will continue to print.
If the paper is still jammed in the printer, proceed to Step 2.
Step 2: Empty the duplexer
The paper jam may be in the duplexer. Remove any paper in the duplexer.
  1. Press the POWER button to turn it off.
  2. Press the button on top of the duplexer, then lower the duplexer door.
  3. Remove any paper from the duplexer as shown in Figure 1.

  4. Close the duplexer door; it will snap shut.
  5. Press the POWER button to turn on the printer.
  6. Reprint the document.
Step 3: Clear paper from the printer body
A paper jam or obstruction may still exist in the body of the printer. Remove the paper jam from the printer.
  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Press the buttons on the right and left side of the duplexer, then remove it from the printer.
  3. Remove any paper or labels from the printer.
If the duplexer is not attached, remove the rear access door by pushing the two latched handles toward the middle of the unit. Remove any paper or labels from the printer.
  4. Rotate any of the three rubber-coated wheels (located in the back of the printer). This will remove paper that may be stuck within the paper-feed mechanism.
  5. Rotate the rollers for two complete cycles (approximately)
  6. Reattach either the rear access door or the duplexer by pushing it in--without holding in the buttons on the ends--until it snaps into place.
  7. Turn the printer on.
  8. Reprint the document.
