Introduction
This document describes how to find the model number of your product. If your printer also has scanning, faxing, and copying functionality, click here to learn how to find the model number on your HP Photosmart All-in-One (c01105892) (in English).
There are several methods for finding the model number on your product. As described in this document, model numbers are commonly located on the body of the product.
A model number is a unique numeric or alphanumeric code used to identify a particular version of a product. For example, the same series of a product may have several different models with varying features.
The following are example model numbers that may look similar to the model number on your product:
  • HP Photosmart 1315
  • HP Photosmart 7550
  • HP Photosmart 1218xi
How do I find my model number?
Use one of the following methods to identify your product.
Method one: Locate the number on the front of the printer in the lower right corner
Find the model number on the front of the product on the lower right side.

Method two: Locate the number on the top of the printer on the lower right
Find the model number on the lower right corner of the top cover of the product.

Method three: Locate the number on the front of the printer in the lower left corner
Find the model number on the front of the product on the lower left side.

Method four: Locate the number on the front of the printer in the upper left corner
Find the model number on the front of the product in the upper left corner.

Method five: Automatically detect the model number
NOTE: The HP Product Detection tool is not available in all countries and is only compatible with Internet Explorer (IE) 6.0 and above.
If you cannot locate the model number on the body of the product, use HP's automatic product-detection tool to determine the model number.
Option one
  1. Click the Support & Drivers link on the top of this page.
  2. Under Or Automatically detect product names/numbers: , click Start Detection .
Option two
  2. Select your region, and then select your country.
  3. Under Or Automatically detect product names/numbers: , click Start Detection .
