Transferring Photos From the Camera to the Computer

ISSUE:
How to transfer (unload) photos from the HP Photosmart C200 digital camera to the computer.
SOLUTION:
Follow these steps to unload all the photos from the HP Photosmart C200 digital camera to the computer. You must install the HP Photosmart C200 digital camera software before you can download the images to the.
NOTE: Hewlett-Packard recommends using an alternating current (AC) adapter when connecting the camera to a computer. Otherwise, the batteries drain rapidly.
  1. Connect the camera to the computer by using the serial cable that is provided, and turn on the camera by sliding open the lens cover. The letters "PC" appear in the Status liquid crystal display (LCD).
  2. Start the HP Photosmart C200 Photo Imaging Software (an icon should have been created on the Windows first screen during the installation of the HP Photosmart C200 software). Use one of two methods to start the software.
    • Double-click the icon on the main screen.
    • Open the software through the Start menu by completing the following steps:
      1. Click Start .
      2. Select Programs .
      3. Select HP Photosmart .
      4. Select C200 Camera .
      5. Select C200 Photo Imaging Software .

  3. Click the Unload Camera icon to open the acquisition software.

    NOTE: The path in the Save my images to: dialog box indicates the destination of your photos after the transfer. To modify this setting, click the button next to the space where the current path is listed.
    • The check mark next to the In the new subfolder: box indicates that the Unload software will automatically create this folder in the path specified above.
    • A check mark next to Delete all images from camera after download indicates that the images that are not locked in the digital camera will be deleted. Photos can be deleted only after they have been unlocked in the camera.
    • The hard drive path where the images are stored appears in the Images will be saved to: dialog box.
      NOTE: In order to delete photos later, clear Delete all images from camera after download . The photos can be deleted later by using the camera controls. The images also can be saved on the CompactFlash (CF) card for short periods of time. Storing photos on a CF card for extended periods of time is not recommended.
  4. To begin unloading, click Start . The “Initializing. Please wait…” message appears.

  5. The Camera Unload software displays a progress bar and a small-sized version of the photo that is being transferred.

    NOTE: To stop the unloading processes, click Cancel .
  6. When all of the images have been transferred, a "Finished" message, which includes the system location of the stored images, appears on the screen.
