Support details

If you have changed the view settings in Internet Explorer only to have those settings revert back to the default settings after restarting the computer, you need to download and install this software update: HP AutoTKit Update (in English). Read the instructions provided on the download page for help with installing the update.
This issue occurs because the HP software utility AutoTKit, which is designed to position the HP ToolKit icon after the first time the computer is started, did not remove itself after the first shutdown of the computer. As a result, every time the computer is restarted it initiates this utility to reset the custom view settings to default. Installing the software update mentioned above will resolve this issue.
