Introduction

The error message "Motive directory has caused an error in Kernel32.dll " occurs. This error is caused by the HP Instant Support software. Follow the steps below to remove it:

NOTE:

Removing the HP Instant Support software will not result in any loss of functionality.

Open the Windows Control Panel:
- Windows 98, Me, and 2000: Click Start , click Settings , and then click Control Panel .
- Windows XP: Click Start and then click Control Panel .
Click Add/Remove Programs .
Click HP Instant Support to select it.
Click the Remove option. Follow any screens that appear to remove the HP Instant Support software and then restart the computer.
