When the printer lights flash, it means that there is something wrong with the printer.
Understanding the lights and buttons
Your printer has the following lights and buttons as shown in Figure 1.

1Powerbutton and light
Press to turn the printer on or off.
The power light flashes when the printer is processing information.
Never turn the printer on or off except with its power button, even if the printer is plugged into a power strip, surge protector, etc.
2Resumebutton and light
Flashes when a printer problem has occurred. Press to clear printer problems.
3Print Cartridge Statuslight
Blinks when there is a problem with a print cartridge.
4 Banner lever and light
Light comes on when the banner lever is in the "up" position for printing banners. Push banner lever down to turn off the light and to print on regular cut sheet paper.
