Method one: Locate the model number on the front of the product
Here are examples of HP model numbers, but your model number might be different:
- HP Officejet Pro K5400tn
- HP Officejet H470wf
- HP Officejet Pro K8600dn
Use the following table to view possible model number locations and compare them with your product.
| Model number location | Product example |
|---|---|
| Upper-middle (front) | ![]() |
| Upper-right corner (front) | ![]() |
| Upper-middle (front), under the top cover | ![]() |
If the model number is not in any of these locations, see Method two.
Method two: Locate the model name on the product and the model number inside the cartridge door
Some products have a model name located on the front of the product, and a specific model number located near the cartridges. For instance, HP Officejet Pro 8000
is the name of the product, and A809a
is the specific model number for that product. The specific model number has five characters. For example:
- A809a
- A809c
- A809n
