Why do I need it?
This is the latest BIOS driver superseding those before it and includes the following updates listed below.
- Added microcode updates for supporting PIII Celeron processor.
- Previous HP bitmap screen logo updated to HP Invent logo.
- Upgrades for faster boot support.
- Corrected screen corruption caused by AGP card being set as Default Primary Video Adapter.

Download peg_202.exe from this page.
What do I do with it?
Installation Method:

- You must restart the computer in DOS mode. For Win-ME systems, this requires the use of a boot floppy.
- At the DOS prompt, position to C:\HP\BIOSupdt
- Begin the BIOS update process by entering the command: BIOSupdt
- When rebooting after the update, the following message may be displayed:
0251: System CMOS checksum bad - Default configuration used
Press to Setup, to Resume
- Press F1 to enter SETUP
- Press F5 to reset BIOS defaults.
- Press F10 to exit SETUP saving your changes.
- Press ENTER to confirm the save.
The BIOS has been updated.
