Fix/Enhancement

This firmware version installs code signing verification functionality. Firmware signed by HP guarantees the integrity and authenticity of the code; meaning that the firmware was produced by HP (authenticity) and that the firmware has not been altered in any way (integrity).
Please use a 2 meter (6 foot) USB High speed (2.0) cable.

IMPORTANT:
  • Before the process starts: Turn the printer off and then back on at this time only to clear main printer memory.

  • Make sure the firmware being updated is for the correct LaserJet product. For example, if you are updating the LJM1319, the firmware file should be for the LJM1319. If the incorrect version of firmware is downloaded to a device, the new code will be ignored and the device will retain its original firmware and return to a ready state.

  • Backup or record all important settings and parameters. Print out any important saved information. This process may initialize settings and parameters to factory defaults and clear information stored in memory.

  • 1. Make sure the driver has been installed correctly
    2. Download the file to the desktop. Double click on the firmware update utility file.
    3. Run the Firmware update utility
    4. Select the correct printer driver from the list.
    5. Click on the "Download firmware" button in the dialog window.
    6. The progress bar will begin to move to the right indicating information being transferred.
    7. Do NOT power cycle the printer or the PC during this process, or the printer may become unstable and/or unusable without further attention from HP. The firmware update can take several minutes to complete. Please be patient.
    8. During the firmware update, the LCD on the printer control panel will display "Printing Document" and will change to "Erasing". After a short while, the LCD display will change to "Programming". Finally the LCD will display "Complete". The "Ready" LED will start flashing. The printer will automatically power cycle to reboot.
    9. Re-Init the NVRAM by holding the "Cancel" and ">" buttons during power up.
    10. Format the file system by entering the 2ndary Service Menu (Press "Setup" then press "Enter" + "<") and selecting "File Sys Format" menu item.
    11. To verify the update, a configuration page can be printed from the printer control panel (Select Setup -> Reports -> Config page). The configuration page will display the current firmware revision in the product information section.

The HP LaserJet M1319 printer must be in a READY state as shown by the LCD display on the control panel and remain powered on during the entire firmware update process.
