Follow the instructions below to install and run HP Download and Install Assistant using the HP Support Solutions Framework.
HP browser detection did not automatically detect your browser. Select the appropriate option required by your browser for each step listed below.

Instructions
Step 1:  Click on the security prompt which appears at the top of the browser window then click 'Download File…'
Step 2:  If a File Download Security Warning appears, click 'Run' to install the framework.
Step 3:  Click 'OK' to close this window and begin downloading your software.
Step 1:  Click 'Run' on the prompt at the bottom of the browser.
Step 2:  If User Account Control appears, click 'Yes' to install the framework.
Step 3:  Click 'OK' to close this window and begin downloading your software.
Step 1:  Click 'HPSupportSolutions…msi' in the lower-left corner of the browser window
Step 2:  If User Account Control appears, click 'Yes' to install the framework.
Step 3:  Click 'OK' to close this window and begin downloading your software.
Step 1:  Click 'Save File' when prompted
Step 2:  Click the downward-facing arrow in the upper-right corner of the browser, then double-click 'HPSupportSolutionsFramework…'
Step 3:  If User Account Control appears, click 'Yes' to install the framework.
Step 4:  Click 'OK' to close this window and begin downloading your software.
Step 1:  Double-click 'HPSupportSolutionsFramework…' in the upper-right corner of the browser.
Step 2:  If User Account Control appears, click 'Yes' to install the framework.
Step 3:  Click 'OK' to close this window and begin downloading your software.
Step 1:  Click 'Save File' when prompted  OR  Click on the security prompt which appears at the top of the browser window then click 'Download File…'  OR  Click 'Run' on the prompt at the bottom of the browser.  OR  Click 'HPSupportSolutions…msi' in the lower-left corner of the browser window
Step 2:  Click the downward-facing arrow in the upper-right corner of the browser, then double-click 'HPSupportSolutionsFramework…'  OR  If a File Download Security Warning appears, click 'Run' to install the framework.

Description

This package contains an AMD Processor update for some notebook models running the Microsoft Windows XP Operating System. The AMD Processor Update for Microsoft Windows XP enables the system to dynamically and automatically select the processor speed, voltage, and power combination to instantaneously match the user performance need.

Fix/Enhancement

Provides driver version 1.3.2.0 and installer version 1.3.2.14.
Fixes issue where the CPU speed is not lowered when using the 'Presentation' or 'Max Battery' Power Schemes.

NOTE: The following items are known limitations of this SoftPaq:
  • "System Properties" report the processor speed incorrectly. For more information about this limitation, see Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 303602, "System Properties Report Wrong Process or Speed."
  • Processor speed may be reported incorrectly in Microsoft Windows XP. For more information about this limitation, see Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 316965, "The Processor Speed May Be Reported Incorrectly in Windows XP."
  • If the notebook is not running Microsoft Windows XP with Service Pack 2 (SP2), the processor performance state may not be restored to the maximum state if the CPU runs at 100 percent. This issue occurs if the notebook is 100 percent busy when the power policy changes. For more information about this limitation and to view support options, see Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 330512, "The Processor Performance State Is Not Restored to the Minimum State If the CPU Runs at 100 Percent."
1. Download the SoftPaq .EXE file to a directory on your hard drive.
2. Execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions.
3. Restart the notebook when the installation is complete.
