HP Download and Install Assistant
Follow the instructions below to install and run HP Download and Install Assistant using the HP Support Solutions Framework.
HP browser detection did not automatically detect your browser. Select the appropriate option required by your browser for each step listed below.

Instructions
Step 1:  Click on the security prompt which appears at the top of the browser window then click 'Download File…'
Step 2:  If a File Download Security Warning appears, click 'Run' to install the framework.
Step 3:  Click 'OK' to close this window and begin downloading your software.
Step 1:  Click 'Run' on the prompt at the bottom of the browser.
Step 2:  If User Account Control appears, click 'Yes' to install the framework.
Step 3:  Click 'OK' to close this window and begin downloading your software.
Step 1:  Click 'HPSupportSolutions…msi' in the lower-left corner of the browser window
Step 2:  If User Account Control appears, click 'Yes' to install the framework.
Step 3:  Click 'OK' to close this window and begin downloading your software.
Step 1:  Click 'Save File' when prompted
Step 2:  Click the downward-facing arrow in the upper-right corner of the browser, then double-click 'HPSupportSolutionsFramework…'
Step 3:  If User Account Control appears, click 'Yes' to install the framework.
Step 4:  Click 'OK' to close this window and begin downloading your software.

Step 2:  If User Account Control appears, click 'Yes' to install the framework.
Step 3:  Click 'OK' to close this window and begin downloading your software.

Description

This package contains the HP Mi BIOS Update Utility and a System BIOS image for the supported NetBook models and operating systems. The HP Mi BIOS Update Utility is used to create a bootable USB disk, which is used to locally flashthe System BIOS (ROM) on NetBooks operating in a HP Mi (Linux) environment.

Fix/Enhancement

  • Adds support for the EVDO WWAN Card.
  • Adds support for updating the battery pack firmware. The update to the battery pack firmware adjusts the thresholds used to determine when the battery pack will disable itself (based on battery cell voltage).
  • NOTE: This file cannot be run directly on an HP or Compaq Mini NetBook PC running HP Mi. This package must be downloaded and run on a second computer that is running Microsoft Windows XP or later.

    1. Download the file by clicking the "Download" or "Obtain Software" button and save the file to a folder on your hard drive (make a note of the folder where the downloaded file is saved).
    2. Double-click the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions.
