For Microsoft Windows OS:

Note: To perform the firmware upgrade, you will use the HP Designjet System Maintenance.

  1. Make sure that the printer is turned on.
  2. On your computer, start the "HP Designjet System Maintenance" utility.
  3. Click the Update Firmware link, which is part of the advanced functions.
  4. Select the firmware file that you downloaded to your computer.
  5. Submit the file to the printer.
  6. Once the firmware update has finished, the printer will be automatically powered down. Wait a few seconds and then power up your printer by pressing the Power key on the front panel.
For Mac OS X:

  1. Make sure that the printer is turned on.
  2. Go to System Preferences and Printer and Fax.
  3. Select your printer and click on Open printer queue.
  4. Click on Utility.
  5. Click the Update Firmware link, which is part of the advanced functions.
  6. Select the firmware file that you downloaded to your computer.
  7. Submit the file to the printer.
  8. Once the firmware update has finished, the printer will be automatically powered down. Wait a few seconds and then power up your printer by pressing the "Power" key on the front panel.
