Description

This firmware recovery utility is for the HP LaserJet P1005, P1006, P1505, P1505n printers only. This recovery is recommended for HP LaserJet P1005, P1006, P1505, P1505n printers that is detected as a HP LaserJet P1002 printer. This utility recovers the product name of the printer in static NVRAM, and customer will be able to successfully install the software.

Use these directions to guide you through the self-install process

Installation Instructions

1. Attach the printer to the PC. Make sure it is the only printer attached via USB.
2. Turn on the printer. Should see plug-n-play event notification:
3. Cancel any Foud New Hardware Wizard dialogs that appear:
4. Run the p1000repair.exe utility (Either double-click, or run from command line):
5. Observe repairing message:
6. Power cycle the printer and should see new plug-n-play event notification that displays the correct printer model number:
7. At this point user can continue with at plug-n-play installation, or turn off printer, insert install CD, and follow installation instructions.
