Agere Systems PCI Soft Modem Driver Update

Use these directions to guide you through the self-install process

Installation Instructions

1. Click the Download Only button.
2. At the File Download screen, click the Save button.
3. At the Save As screen, save the file to your Desktop.
4. If a message appears stating that the file already exists, click YES to
overwrite file.
5. Double-click the icon for the update downloaded to your desktop, and then
click NEXT.
6. Follow on-screen instructions. The original drivers are now stored in the
C:\SoftPaq folder.
7. If Device Manager does not start automatically, use the following steps. 
Otherwise go to step 8:
    a. Click Start.
    b. Right-click My Computer, and then select Properties.
    c. Click the Hardware tab, and then click the Device Manager button.
8. Click the + (plus) sign next to “Modems”.
9. Right-click "Agere Systems PCI Soft Modem", and then select "Update
Driver...".
10. Select "No, not this time", and then click NEXT.
11. Click NEXT to install the software automatically
12. Click FINISH to complete the installation.
13. Restart the system upon completion of the update.
