Use these directions to guide you through the self-install process
Installation Instructions
1. Click the Download Only button.2. At the File Download screen, click the Save button.
3. At the Save As screen, save the file to your Desktop.
4. If a message appears stating that the file already exists, click YES to overwrite file.
5. Double-click the icon for the update downloaded to your desktop, and then click NEXT.
6. Follow on-screen instructions. The disc creation may take several minutes to complete.
7. Once the update has completed, insert the created CD into the system with the new or "wiped" hard drive, and then restart that system.
8. When a window with a green check mark displays, remove the CD from the drive and shut down the system. Then turn the system on.
9. You can now start System Recovery using the HP provided recovery discs.

System requirements
Note: This update and the CD it creates is needed only if you are using recovery discs sent to you from HP. It is not required if you are using recovery discs you created yourself.
